After Naruto, it is now the turn of a new Japanese manga to make its entrance at Konix: My Hero Academia!

Created in 2014 by the manga artist Kōhei Horikoshi, this shōnen type of manga was quickly adapted into an anime in 2016. Following that, two animated movies were released in August 2018 and December 2019 respectively. Since 2020, the manga has had over 26 million copies printed and has now become one of the most popular anime of the moment.

In the world of My Hero Academia, 80% of the world’s population is being gifted with superpowers and are hence nicknamed « Alter ». Every super-powered individual can choose if they want to become a hero or a villain. The protagonist, Izuku Midoriya (otherwise known as “Deku”) is part of the powerless people. Deku dreams of one day becoming a superhero as powerful as his idol named All Might. At one point, they will meet, and All Might will end up giving Deku something that he will not forget.
