KONIX CSR COMMITMENTS

Corporate Social Responsibility, also known as “CSR” is defined by the European Commission as the voluntary integration by companies of social and environmental concerns into their business activities and their relations with stakeholders.
In other words, CSR is the contribution of companies to sustainable development issues.
A company that practices CSR will therefore seek to have a positive impact on society while being economically viable.

THE 7 KEYS TO KONIX’S CSR APPROACH

  • Product packaging.

  • Product sourcing.

  • Transport policy.

  • Warranty and service conditions.

  • Human resources management.

  • Eco-responsible POS (point of sale) tools.

  • Selection of partners.

PACKAGINGS

  • FSC cardboard from sustainably managed forests.

  • 2023 goal: zero plastic.

  • Replace plastic protections in packages intended for shipping with kraft paper or no protection if possible.

  • Reduction of the size of our packaging (less waste but also carbon benefit in transport).

What is FSC?

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) is a non-governmental organization created in 1993, one year after the Rio Earth Summit, by a group of companies, environmental associations (including WWF) and social rights representatives. Its mission is to create and promote an independent and efficient certification system in all types of forests (boreal, tropical and temperate). A regular control of the certified forests and companies by an independent third party guarantees the application of responsible management specifications. By being promoted by a demanding label, the values of forests are better shared and preserved.

PRODUCT SOURCING

  • Selection of recycled and/or recyclable materials when possible.

  • Selection of factories that comply with standards (BSCI, SADEX, ISO 9001, ISO 14 …).

  • Reports and tests: RED (Radio frequency), LVD …

  • Quality comparison via independent partners: exclusive protocol with IRCAM.

  • Products in compliance with CE, REACH, ROHS standards.

  • Audits of our partners.

  • Internal audit (quality control, management control, auditor).

Strict application of these standards which guarantee the quality of our products and a minimal defect rate to fight against waste and programmed obsolescence.

TRANSPORT POLICY

  • Objective of 100% maritime experimentation achieved in 2021.

  • Target for direct freight from factories to customer warehouses: 50% by 2025. 20% in 2022 (by avoiding unnecessary intermediate transits, Konix will significantly reduce the impact on the carbon footprint of its goods transportation.)

  • Organization of specific packaging (gift packs for example, repackaging of damaged packaging) in France in our warehouses to limit additional transit.
  • Audits of our transport partners and selection based on CSR criteria.
  • Optimization of distributors’ orders and deliveries to regroup needs and reduce the number of departures.

WARRANTY AND SERVICE CONDITIONS

  • 95% of products guaranteed for 3 years and 5% of products guaranteed for 2 years.

  • Certified and selected factories to guarantee an excellent reliability and life span of the products for less waste and obsolescence.
